After receiving your acceptance letter from a designated college, it’s time to gather your documentation and apply for your Study Visa in Canada. A study permit is a written authorization issued to foreign students permitting them to engage in studies in Canada.

The efficient, consistent, and transparent processing of international students in Canada remains one of IRCC’s priorities.

Some requirements are as followed:

  • Letter of acceptance from the educational institute that they will be attending
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of financial support
Number of family members (including the applicant) Amount of funds required per year (not including tuition)
    1 CAN$20,635
    2 CAN$25,690
    3 CAN$31,583
    4 CAN$38,346
    5 CAN$43,492
    6 CAN$49,051
    7 CAN$54,611
If more than 7 people, each additional family member CAN$5,559
  • Provincial attestation letter

Since January 22, 2024, students must submit a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the province or territory of intended study along with their study permit application. Failure to include a PAL may lead to the return of your application, accompanied by associated fees in the majority of cases.

Who doesn’t it apply to:

  • Applying to enroll in preschool, primary school, or secondary school (up to grade 12)
  • Applying to enroll in a master’s degree or doctoral degree program

The study permit allows students to work part-time on campus and seek renewal from within Canada should they decide to stay longer.

Our services include helping students obtain their study permit and later on their post-graduate work permit after their studies.

The Post-Graduate Work Permit is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that allows international students who have graduated from an accredited school to stay in Canada to gain valuable Canadian work experience.

The eligibility criteria are as followed:

  • Students must currently hold valid temporary status or have left Canada.
  • They must have graduated from an eligible designated learning institution (DLI)
  • The program must at least be 8 months in duration leading to a degree, diploma or certificate.
  • Applicant must have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program
  • A Transcript and an official letter from the eligible DLI confirming that they have met the requirements to complete their program of study is also needed

Students finishing short master’s programs ( 8 months minimum) starting on February 15, 2024, may be eligible for a 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). The permit’s length is based on the program’s level and duration, as well as the passport expiry date. If your program is less than 8 months you will not be eligible for a PGWP

A PGWP is a great pathway to immigration in Canada as it gives students the chance to apply for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class.

Student direct stream or SDS is a promising program implemented by IRCC to help foreign nationals from 14 countries to receive their study permit faster. Most SDS applications are processed in 20 calendar days if the eligibility criteria are met. To benefit from this Immigration program, you must
